business cards

I finally got some business cards ordered from moo I really hope they turn out ok.

 :-) just so I have them to hand out and put on any stalls I do in future. 

Mega weekend

So this weekend I started by visiting my friend in Liverpool. I had such a fun time and saw Gok Wan. I also went for a wander around the Liverpool Tate Gallery which was really modern I really liked seeing the sculpture by Edgar Degas - little dancer aged 14 (1992) and the Eva Kotatkova -stories from the living room (2010) installation was really nice. Its well worth going to see the works that are in there especially the touched exhibition that's on till the 28th of November.

  

On the Sunday I also held a stall with my friend Elizabeth at a small vintage market in my city. 

Lots of Christmas card's and original print's from previous year and this one are up for sale.

Calender Image

So my course was creating a calender to sell at fund-raisers for our end of year show. We each got a different month and colour that we could incorporate into our black and white image. I got December which I was really happy about because there's so much symbolism for this time of year. In my image I decided to draw my own snowflakes and have Rudolf trying to find his way through the snow. I drew most parts individually then scanned them in to put together on photoshop. special thanks to my tutor Domanic Li who helped me a little bit with the photoshop stuff I had forgotten how to do.

portrait project

I'm currently working on doing a sort of self portrait I don't want it to be photo perfect or anything.  I've been trying to draw myself using photographs and a mirror, its really not that easy. Artists that I drew inspiration from are Robert Rauschenberg and Lucian Freud. I suppose what i'm trying to do is mix a hand drawn element with collage.
